Positive Relationships.

It has been said that happiness is other people. We all know from personal experience that our relationships with others can be the source of the deepest joy and fulfilment in life, but also the greatest sadnesses.

The Positive Relationships strand of the well-being course aims to give the students some of the skills that they might need to make their relationships work as well as possible, in whatever form.

Much of what we do concerns thinking about how to build up trust, how to resolve conflict in a meaningful way and how to pay attention to others through listening, appreciating and being kind. Work on relationships begins in the 3rd Form Course with sessions on emotional recognition and management, trust and conflict resolution and is re-visited in the 4th and 5th Forms. The 4th and 5th Form scheme of work is below, as are the resources used in the lessons.
