Electricity Monitoring

Update 1st November 2010

All Houses now have a monitor installed along with the Master's lodge and the Chemistry Department. Pupils are being trained to look after them and feed data back in and we now have useful data flowing in.

The latest data can be found on this spreadsheet (open it as read only)

Update 10th June

4 Monitors now installed: The entire Chemistry department (including some of Textiles/Biology), The Anglesey, The Picton and The Orange.

Graphs below show the usage during half term and once term started back again. Interestingly 64% of the power consumed in term time is also consumed when the College is largely empty.

In the houses, the energy consumed per person is:

Anglesey: 2.90 KWh per person per day

Picton: 2.71 KWh per person per day

Orange: 2.79 KWh per person per day

Update 26th May

In the past few weeks, several electricity monitors have been installed in some of the boarding houses and also another monitor measuring the usage of three of the Chemistry labs. The first week's results are below. The first graph represents the amount used (in kWh per day) over the last week. The second graph is the average usage for different times of the day.

Based on the number of people living there the average usage per person per day is......

Picton - 2.85 kWh

Anglesey - 3.10 kWh
