The British Schoolgirls' Races 2011
The Girls Ski Team, comprising Luisa Schulte-Bockum, Caroline Dreesmann and Alexia Mavroleon (with Alice Richards and Amelia Robinson as reserves) competed in icy conditions in Flaine, France. They enjoyed great success with impressive personal performances at their first ski race event, although no prizes this time. Luisa Schulte-Bockum came 35 out of 110 in the Girls Combined Individual; a particularly praiseworthy accomplishment.
The team achieved a very respectable ranking of 24th out of 59 in the Combined Team Competition and put up a good fight against specialist ski schools and race clubs such as Reeds, Surbiton High and Kandahar. The level of team spirit, peer support and good sportsmanship was most noteworthy and highly commendable to all involved.
