Welcome
Here you will find information about the varied and challenging service programme. Service is underpinned by our commitment to Round Square, the IBO values, the eight aptitudes and the five core values of Wellington:respect, integrity, responsibility, kindness and courage.
All activities seek to promote these values and offer our staff and pupils opportunities to put the values into practice. Our Service programme is exceptionally extensive and includes: House charities, House leadership and charity work overseas, the Round Square work, international and national projects, extensive individual and group fundraising projects, working within the community (both in Wellington and in our local community), Sustainability work and so on. What is Service?
Service is an activity which benefits others There are many services that people commonly misconstrued as not being services. Service can come under many forms, leadership, community work, and charity work are a few examples of how service can come into action.
Service shouldn't be seen as a chore but an act of humanity, benefiting people and communities around us.
Service is an act of helpful activity.
Service can push your boundaries rather than limiting your time.
Why do I do Service?
These are the years that we get to explore the world around us, in a supportive community. Service broadens our horizons, it enriches us as people and allows us to discover ourselves. Service is also a key part of the eight aptitutudes and of course it must not be forgotten that as wholesome individuals, we incorporate service into our everyday lives.
