Thinking about A-Level subject choices
The Russell Group
The Russell Group, which represents many of the UK’s leading universities, publishes guidelines on which subjects provide a good preparation for study at these institutions. This document, Informed Choices, also indicates which A-Level subjects are useful if you have a specific degree course in mind.
According to the guide:
‘if you know you want to apply for a certain degree, you must take these essential subjects at advanced level. To maximise your chances of gaining a place at a competitive university, you would also be wise to choose one or more of the other useful subjects for the degree in question.’
