Safeguarding
Wellington College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every pupil.
Under Section 11 and Section 75 of the Education Act 2002, the College is committed to:
"creating and sustaining a safe learning environment" and "identifying where there are child welfare concerns and taking action to address them, in partnership"
As a result the College fulfills 8 key standards:
1) Senior management commitment
2) A clear statement of responsibilities towards children, available for all staff
3) A clear line of accountability for work on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
4) A service development that takes account of the need to safeguard and promote welfare and is informed, where appropriate, by the views of children and families
5) Training of all staff on safeguarding
6) Safe recruitment procedures in place
7) Effective inter-agency working
8) Effective information sharing
