Cross Country Fixtures 2012
15/12/11 The Xmas Races This is a race for the whole 3rd and 4th Forms, boys and girls. The race is an inter House race as well as a race for individuals. The start is at West Gate on The Kilometre and the finish is on Bigside and comprises a lap of the College grounds. The race starts at approximately 2:40pm.
14/01/12 The Knole Run The Knole Run is an Open Girls and Open Boys race in Knole Park, Sevenoaks. We normally take two teams of boys and we will be taking two teams of girls in 2012 for the first time in Wellington history. The girl’s race starts at 2:30pm. The boys race starts at 2:40pm.
21/01/12 The County Schools The County Schools Championships is hosted by Wellington. The race is for Junior, Intermediate and Senior Boys and Girls. This is a qualifier to run for Berkshire Schools and also for the National Schools. The start and finish is on Bigside and comprises a lap of the College grounds. The timtable for all races is as follows;12:45am Under 13 Girls, 1:05pm Under 13 Boys, 1:30pm Senior Boys, 1:55pm Inter Girls and Senior Girls, 2:25pm Junior Boys, 2:55pm Junior Girls, 3:15pm Iner Boys.
26/01/12 The Winchester Meeting This is primarily a meeting of four or five boys schools at Winchester College, although there will be some girls running in 2012 from Wellington and other schools. The course is hilly and quite testing and a very interesting run. The fisrt race is 2:45pm.
04/02/12 The Wellington Relays The Relays are held at Wellington and are for all age groups and for boys and girls. The relay is a five leg relay race around the golf course, finishing and starting on Farm Field. The first race is expected to be at approximately 2:00pm. In 2012 there are currently in excess of 80 teams racing across all age groups and sexes.
07/02/12 The Inter House Relays The Inter House Relays are for all three age groups and for boys’ and girls’ Houses. The relay is a four leg relay race around the golf course, finishing and starting on Farm Field. The first race is expected to be at approximately 2:45pm.
09/02/12 The Radley Relays This is a relay race for the boys held in the Radley College grounds. The relay is a four leg race of 1.6 miles per leg for Junior, Inter and Senior Boys. Wellington will also be taking a girls' team for the first time in Wellington history. The first race starts at 2:45pm.
03/03/12 SLH Schools Races The South London Harriers Schools Races are to held at Farthing Downs, near Coulsdon and are for all three age groups for boys and girls. Races start at 2:00pm.
10/03/12 Ranelagh Cup The Ranelagh Cup is a essentially an Open Boys race of 3.8miles in Richmond Park. Girls are invited to run but there is no separate girls’ event.
17/03/12 SE Schools’ Champs The Southeast Schools Champs (Brunivels’ Trophies) is hosted by Harrow and is a 2.25 mile race for the Open Girls, 2.25 mile race for the Junior Boys, 3.6 mile race for Inter Boys and 4.5 mile race for the Senior Boys. The course is usually muddy so long spikes are recommended for this event. This is on the same week-end of the National Schools, which could mean that we will be missing a number of runners from this event. The first race is due to start at 2:30pm.
17/03/12 ESAA National Champs The National Champs are to be held in Essex for 2012. Wellington anticipate to have a good representation running for Berkshire at the National Schools.
20/03/12 The Kingsleys This is an Intra House Race which starts at West Gate, to the top of Reservoir Hill, through Swan Lake to finish on Rhododendron Drive. It is a race for the whole school, all three age groups, boys and girls. It is anticipated that the start of the race will be at 2:45pm.
