The emphasis of the MYP is much more about acquiring the skills to equip students for later life rather than on the content of the course.

MYP aim to develop:

The capacity for students to be lifelong learners.

To be adaptable to the rapidly changing world.

Acquire problem solving skills, practical skills and intellectual rigour.

The capacity and self confidence to act individually and within a team.

An awareness of global issues.

To engage in communication with an international perspective.

To respect others and have an appreciation of similarities and difference.

The holistic learning approach emphasises the links between the disciplines, providing a global view of situations and issues. The Areas of Interaction are highlighted throughout the Scheme of Work (SoW).

The SoW is designed to allow for vertical planning where the learning experiences that students encounter are built upon in later years.
