Sporting Code of Conduct at Wellington College

All Wellington College pupils are expected to observe the following when taking part in sport:

Training

1.      Arrive in good time for each training session, with the appropriate training kit.

2.      Inform your coach if you have to leave before the end of a session or if you will need to miss a practice for any reason.

3.      Pay attention and participate fully in all activities, abiding by all health and safety concerns.

4.      Keep up to date with schedules and fixtures by consulting your coach, checking your emails and the College intranet.

 

Matches

 Pupils are expected to behave in a manner that brings credit to Wellington College and themselves. In particular, pupils should:

1.      Be available for all matches and to arrive with the appropriate kit.

2.      Be smartly and appropriately dressed, both when travelling to opposition schools, when on the field of play and at match teas.

3.      For home matches, be prepared to meet and greet the opposition and show them to their appropriate changing room and pitch.

4.      Co-operate with coaches, team mates, opponents and referees/umpires.

5.      Always play by the rules and the laws of the game.

6.      Respect referees and other officials and their decisions.

7.      Applaud all good play, whether by your own team or by your opponents.

8.      Control your emotions. Verbal or physical abuse of team mates, opponents, or match officials is not acceptable.

9.      Conduct yourself appropriately at the end of matches, with 3 cheers, and shaking hands with opposition players, coaches and the referee/umpire.

10.  Respect all the facilities at Wellington and to make sure that all equipment is safely returned.

11.  To abide by all health and safety concerns.
